I grew up in an environment that wasn’t safe. My father was physically abusive towards my mom and that’s something that just after years practicing Bjj so I realize that for sure had influence my choices and help my strength to stay in BJJ even facing all challenges.

I am Brazilian. I did boxing for a while and when got a chance try jujutsu fell in love and never stop it. It’s been 22 years practicing and 12 that I teach.

A few years ago, I caught myself in a situation that I believe Jiu-Jitsu saved my life, I was in a toxic relationship. We ended up having an argument in the car and he tackled me. I end up, hitting my head in the compartment glove and falling on the carpet, and I use my sheen as a frame to find space and escape to the driver seat, He was holding me and with basic movements to break wrist grips I was able to finally escape him and get out of the car.

It was the most scary situation at the moment at that time, and I remember myself facing him, and I thinking that I might die because he was completely out of his mind. I am thankful, Jitsu and I hope I can keep sharing my knowledge and helping girls and women more and more here in your ass in Brazil.
